My first week at Vitalize

Everyone hates being the new guy at work. You don’t know who to ask questions to, what people think is a “stupid question”, or even where to look to figure it out yourself. That means you spend weeks tip-toeing around people, trying to pretend like you know what to do and that you understand what is going on. As an engineer, I hate not knowing how things work especially the special quirks to the system.
My first week at Vitalize was the exact opposite and it was awesome. The docs are written as a curriculum instead of an archive of information and when you put an agent on top of something like that it helps you walk through and learn it in the best order instead of just searching. Vitalize pushes agents to the limit on documentation and tooling so that any question you could imagine is already connected to your agent and immediately up to date with citations against the actual code / config / Linear ticket. It’s the perfect “internal search engine” that enables a company to move fast and keep everyone on the same page at the same time.
In my first week (woohoo! new job) this meant that I could drop straight into shipping features and building instead of having to bog down my teammates to answer my dumb questions that the codebase can answer. Human to human collaboration still existed, don’t worry AI haters, we’ve whiteboarded no less than 8 times in the past 2 weeks.
I haven’t even touched on the culture onboarding and meeting all the amazing people that welcome you to Vitalize like they’re meeting a long lost friend for the first time in years. I said it during my interview loop but I optimize for “building cool sh.t” and everyone here feels the same. If that’s what you’re looking for in your next company, apply to Vitalize here.
